It's Friday woo hoo

Happy friday to you all. I know the weather is so off but what ever you do don't put a hat on! A girls hair has to look fabulous. Quick tip so the hair doesn't frizz up when you go out for drinks tonight add a little of Nutri-Sculpt Lumiere by Kerastase. This helps seal the ends of your hair giving a great shine and helps with maintaine the frizz.

Have a great weekend!

Makeup by Joanna Jaramillo

The colors that she chose for my look was amazing. She really knows how to capture any look weather it is for Halloween, a wedding or just a special event.

simple but cute

Hi all hope everyone had a great Halloween. I really went all out on my costume i was a very cute peacock it was fabulous! I really out did last years for sure. The costume was fun and colorful. So i kept my hair in a simple pony tail but with some nice volume in the front. Didn't want to take away from my costume and make up. This style can be worn when you are in need of something easy but sexy. Just add some dazzle to your eyes and a great pair of earrings.

Have a great day and hope all my tips help.

Shout out to Joanna Jaramillo which did my make up she is an amazing makeup artist.

Kardashian Style

Going out and need a nice full volume hair style? I call this my Kardashian 'Do. This style is great the for Friday night but it also holds well for Saturday Night. All you need to do is tease it and add extra hair spray and you're good to go.

1. Grab a strand of hair. Curl the strand in place for 10 seconds. Slowly releasing the curl.

2. Grab the strand, keep the curl in place by pinning with hair pin.

3. Repeat, the steps. This is how the process should look.
4. Then shake out the curls, run your fingers through it and spray with hair spray.

Simple Updo's

Simple updo's are easy and should take no longer then 20 minutes.
Whether it be a bun with a fashionable braid:

a younger version french twist:

or something fun rather then a typical braid:

The Dallas 'Do Photo Shoot

A few weeks I was able to do my friend Taylor's hair and style her for her photoshoot. I tend to name my hair 'dos and I call this my "Voluptuous Dallas Do." Taylor has a lot of hair and good thing she loves big hair. with my experience in the industry, i was able to express my creativity to help her establish the style of outfits she wore. you too can do a photo shoot like Taylor's.

Some beauty tips are:
1: hair- wash your hair the day before. do a rough blow dry with light products. day old hair helps keeps the style and allows for it to be fresh looking and bouncy. TIP: keeping your ends from looking dry use Kerastase Lumiere Nutri-Sculpt
2: make-up - always want extra blush. lighting takes color from cheeks and eyes
3: accessories - always over accessorize. it gives more to the picture. and sometimes draws attention away from the flaws
4: clothing - color, color, color choose colors that work well with your skin tone. it helps the picture to stand out much better. bring props-hats, boyfriend's jersey...etc
5: don't forget to wax/shave and moisturize your body
6: if you're nervous, a little liquid courage won't hurt
7: LASTLY don't forget to smile and have fun

P.S. it helps when you also have great photographer like Kim Le (www.kimlephotography.com) to shoot you.

Welcome!!

Hi, I am Monica and welcome to my blog. I started out doing my own hair in high school and just fell in love with it. The passion for it allowed me to get an apprenticeship with a master hair stylist. Working for the master stylist helped me hone my skills. I learned how to mix hair dye to get the perfect riche color or a bouncy blow dry. From there I went Marinello School of Beauty and receive my cosmetology licenses. These past six years I have been cutting, styling, and coloring all different types of hair. I currently work a few days at Salon Lavish in Covina, CA and the other days I am usually busy with doing wedding updo's and styling hair for photoshoots.
I created this blog to show you the in's and out's of hair as well as bits and piece of my life. I will show you how to create a simple but elegant ponytail for a dinner party or a "do it yourself" tease for a night out with the girls. I will also post pictures of updo's I do at weddings and pictures of the girls I style at photoshoots. I truly hope you will find my blog useful. Please feel free to leave comments or send me an email if you have any questions. I love to hear from you. I would LOOOVE to do your hair.
