Simple updo's are easy and should take no longer then 20 minutes. Whether it be a bun with a fashionable braid: a younger version french twist: or something fun rather then a typical braid: xoxo, monica
A few weeks I was able to do my friend Taylor's hair and style her for her photoshoot. I tend to name my hair 'dos and I call this my "Voluptuous Dallas Do." Taylor has a lot of hair and good thing she loves big hair. with my experience in the industry, i was able to express my creativity to help her establish the style of outfits she wore. you too can do a photo shoot like Taylor's. Some beauty tips are: 1: hair- wash your hair the day before. do a rough blow dry with light products. day old hair helps keeps the style and allows for it to be fresh looking and bouncy. TIP: keeping your ends from looking dry use Kerastase Lumiere Nutri-Sculpt 2: make-up - always want extra blush. lighting takes color from cheeks and eyes 3: accessories - always over accessorize. it gives more to the picture. and sometimes draws attention away from the flaws 4: clothing - color, color, color choose colors that work well with your skin tone. it helps the picture to stand out much better. bring props-hats, boyfriend's jersey...etc 5: don't forget to wax/shave and moisturize your body 6: if you're nervous, a little liquid courage won't hurt 7: LASTLY don't forget to smile and have fun
P.S. it helps when you also have great photographer like Kim Le (www.kimlephotography.com) to shoot you.
Hi, I am Monica and welcome to my blog. I started out doing my own hair in high school and just fell in love with it. The passion for it allowed me to get an apprenticeship with a master hair stylist. Working for the master stylist helped me hone my skills. I learned how to mix hair dye to get the perfect riche color or a bouncy blow dry. From there I went Marinello School of Beauty and receive my cosmetology licenses. These past six years I have been cutting, styling, and coloring all different types of hair. I currently work a few days at Salon Lavish in Covina, CA and the other days I am usually busy with doing wedding updo's and styling hair for photoshoots. I created this blog to show you the in's and out's of hair as well as bits and piece of my life. I will show you how to create a simple but elegant ponytail for a dinner party or a "do it yourself" tease for a night out with the girls. I will also post pictures of updo's I do at weddings and pictures of the girls I style at photoshoots. I truly hope you will find my blog useful. Please feel free to leave comments or send me an email if you have any questions. I love to hear from you. I would LOOOVE to do your hair.
